Bridalveil
Falls Photo in Winter This
photo of Bridalveil Falls in Yosemite Vallley was taken soon after sunrise
on the morning of December 29, 2006. As I walked around Yosemite Valley
on that morning, about every two minutes I heard a loud cracking, crashing
sound like a landslide that could be heard all over the west end of
the valley. It wasn't until I got to Bridalveil Falls that I figured
it out. The water going over the fall was freezing as it shot out into
the air. Every few minutes, the weight of the ice collecting on the
cliff would become too great, and it would come crashing down.
