Lower
Proxy Falls Photo, In
spring of 2006, I mountain-biked four miles up past the snow gate on
the closed Highway 242 in the McKenzie Pass until I couldn't go any
farther because of snow, tied my bike up to a tree and then trudged
through deep snow out the trail to this beautiful, 150-foot-tall waterfall,
which is one of the most photographed in the world--in the summer anyway.
I just went at a time when I could be alone with it, and I was probably
the only person who saw it on this day. I like this spot, where the
fall is framed perfectly in trees. BACK
