Alsea
Falls is located 14 miles west of Monroe, Oregon, in the lush rain forest
between the Oregon Coast and the southern Willamette Valley. This photo
was taken in September, 2005, during the driest time of a dry year for
this area, so you can imagine what it looks like in the spring of a
good year. Although this 30-foot fall is eclipsed by the many spectacular
waterfalls of Oregon, Alsea Falls is a scenic waterfall with a great
swimming hole at the bottom. The BLM's Alsea Falls Recreation Area includes
an excellent campground, hiking trails and picnic area.
