Tejon Pass Photo Along the Grapevine Near Gorman
by Lee Reeder

Tejon Pass photo. This picture was taken in the Tejon Pass, which is also known as "The Grapevine" for motorists along Interstate 5 between Los Angeles and the San Joaquin Valley. It shows leftover snow lying in the shadows, making tiger-like stripes in the rolling hills above 5,000 feet. It struck me as looking like a chocolate marshmallow sundae at the time. This photo was taken just south of Gorman, California and at the epicenter of the 8.0-magnitude 1857 earthquake.
