USS Midway Photos San Diego

These photos were taken in downtown San Diego on the USS Midway. This is a great place for photography.
I was lucky enough to get it mostly to myself.

I love this enormous sculpture off the port side of the Midway because it is a depiction of one of the top 5 most famous
photographs ever taken--the V-J Day photo in Times Square from legendary photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt.

 

The city glows in the background after sunset.

An end to another perfect day in the bay.
This is a typical photo of the view off the bow of the USS Midway

But the best photos taken that night were by other people--good old friends I haven't seen for 10 years. This is me and Mary Beth, one of my best old JEMS buddies. We were there honoring our old boss Jim Page--the Father of modern EMS.
