Idyllwild Hike Photos With Wildflowers
Photos by Lee Reeder, June 19, 2008

These photos were taken along the Ernie Maxwell Scenic Trail above Idyllwild.

Western Azalea (Rhododendron occidentale) are beautiful and fragrant in the stream courses along the path.

Lily Rock, also called Tahquitz, although Tahquitz is really the big mountain behind it.

This Crimson Coumbine (Aquilegia formosa) looked great in its very green surroundings.

I liked the local granite and combination of shadow and light around this Palmer's Mariposa Lily (Calochortus palmeri).

Here is a closeup of a Palmer's Mariposa Lily to show the beautiful colors inside.
