Hawks at Prado Wetlands
Lee Reeder

The immense Prado Wetlands are known for their wading birds, warblers and a variety of waterfowl, but this is also a place for hawks. I saw six hawks--two red-shouldered hawks and four red-tailed hawks--in just one small group of about 10 trees.

These photos were taken on January 30, 2008.

This immature Red-Tailed Hawk almost looks like a Golden Eagle at this stage.

Intense.

This Red-Tailed hawk shows what beautiful and powerful creatures they are.
