Beavertail Cactus Photo Galllery
by Lee Reeder

Beavertail Cactus is a wonder in the spring. Usually this is a low, nondescript plant often hidden among rocks and other plants. In April and May, however, the plants burst forward with as many as 50 bright pink and yellow flowers, making them one of the most beatiful sights in the high desert. These Beavertail Cactus flower photos were taken in Summit Valley and Cajon Pass in Southern California in 2005 and 2008.
