Mormon Rocks Secret Spot
by Lee Reeder

These photos were taken in the less-traveled southern area of the
Mormon Rocks in the Cajon Pass.

This is one of the main formations in the southern portion of the Mormon Rocks, which few people except train engineers ever see. To get an idea of scale, I'm a big guy, but if I were standing anywhere on these rocks, you would not even recognize the speck as a person.

I guess that's why they call them succulents, because they're so...I don't know....succulent.
This little guy is only about 2 inches across. The rocks are cool too
.

Had to do this one in black and white. Just seemed right.

Tired, sweaty photographer on the wrong side of the camera. That's just wrong!

Nice and wet this year out here in one of my favorite places.

.

These guys were a little creepy. I don't think I'd want to make a campfire here at night.

This little hidden valley is nice. If you come here in winter or spring, watch out for quicksand along the creek.
I avoided it this time. Last time was a different story.

Lots of great scenes out here.
