This is the bridge we walked over to cross Gray Eagle Creek on a snowshoe on the Plumas National Forest in the norteastern Sierra

.

This is me posing with Sockeye and Luna, my friend's border collies. I had to leave my border collie at home on this trip. He has hiked with these two dogs before though. Mine looks like Luna at right, but he's bigger.

.

My snowshoeing friend, a Forest Service biologist, taught me a lot about trees out there today. The Ponderosas out here look very healthy.

.

I love these dogs. Way too smart and lots of fun.

Lake Almanor, a little north of my friend's town, was a peaceful beauty this morning.

.

We saw this on the way. This is what happens when a couple of tons of red fir fall on a two-story house.

.

Here is the tree going into the back of the house. Luckily nobody was at home at the time.
